1. Commitment to User Privacy

StreamSnap AI ("we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to protecting user privacy and maintaining complete transparency regarding data processing. This Privacy Policy details how the StreamSnap AI Chrome Extension collects, uses, stores, and safeguards your information.

2. Data Processing & Video Frame Analysis

StreamSnap AI is designed as a client-first, privacy-respecting tool:

Explicit Trigger Only: StreamSnap AI never captures video frames or images in the background without explicit user action. Scanning only occurs when you click "Scan Live Products", "Snip & Search on Video", or use your designated shortcut (Option+S / Alt+Shift+S).
Local In-Memory Processing: Video frames and cropped snippets are processed in local browser memory. We do not transmit or store raw video frames on external servers.
Local Storage: Downscaled thumbnails and catalog history are stored exclusively in your browser's isolated local storage (chrome.storage.local). You can clear this history with one click at any time.
Zero Telemetry / No Tracking: We do not track your general browsing history, keystrokes, personal identity, or websites outside supported live streaming platforms.

3. Third-Party Services & API Keys

Google Gemini Vision API: When an AI visual query is triggered, the localized image crop is sent directly to Google's official Gemini API using the API key you provide. Your key is stored securely in your browser's local storage and is never sent to our servers.
Amazon Commerce & Affiliate Links: Product links generated by StreamSnap AI redirect to Amazon.com with an affiliate identifier. StreamSnap does not access, collect, or store your Amazon account credentials, payment methods, or purchase records.

4. Browser Permissions & Justifications

Permission	Purpose & Justification
`sidePanel`	Renders the product catalog, match confidence scores, and 1-Click Amazon Cart alongside the video without obscuring stream playback.
`activeTab`	Allows grabbing the visible video frame only when a scan or snip is explicitly initiated by the user.
`storage`	Stores your custom Amazon Associate tag, scan history, and Gemini API key locally on your device.
`alarms`	Schedules optional automated periodic scans without requiring memory-heavy background workers.
`tabs`	Reads the active streaming tab title to tag detected items with the correct stream/channel name.
`Host Permissions`	Restricted strictly to supported live video platforms: `youtube.com`, `twitch.tv`, `tiktok.com`, `facebook.com`, and `kick.com`.

5. No Sale of Personal Data

We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal data or browsing information with data brokers, advertisers, or third parties.
